Accidental HIV Exposure is treatable when responded to immediately
As a member of the P3 – Personal Protection Programme, you now have access to anti -retroviral treatment and trauma counselling. You are also able to obtain professional advice on what to do to ensure you are not infected.
Our Members are supported with:
Access to 24-hour Care Centre
Access to advice regarding the location of instant medication and testing
Access to advice regarding where a member can recieve anti-retroviral therapy and STI medication
Access to where a member can get face-to-face or online counselling (optional)
Telephonic support by specialist case managers
HIV Exposure Trauma Assist Process:
Exposure to HIV can occur in many ways
- Accidental sexual transmissions i.e. sexual assault and rape.
- Blood transfusions, needle stick injury.
- Coming directly into contact with infected bodily fluids through incidents such as consensual sex protection failure or vehicle accidents
